Blackpool North Pier Tickets
The Blackpool North Pier was officially opened in May 1863 in a grand ceremony that was attended by 20,000 people. Originally, it was the second of fourteen piers designed by Eugenius Birch and is now the oldest of the remaining pieces of his work in use.
Primarily built with leisure activities in mind, the North Pier was sold to the family firm Sedgwick’s in April 2011 and there are restoration plans in the works at the moment. New owner Peter Sedgwick has said that the Victorian heritage of the pier is something that should be restored, with the tram being re-instated and free entry to previously chargeable attractions – which could bring more visitors to the area. The Pier is currently a Grade II listed building and there are several amusement arcades open to the public.
