Blackpool Tower Tickets
Inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Blackpool Tower was opened to the public in May 1894 and stands at 158m in height. In contrast to its French counterpart, the Blackpool tower is not designed to be free standing, its base stands beneath the buildings that are home to the Blackpool Tower Circus. At 5,050 sq metres, this Grade 1 listed structure is one of Blackpool’s most celebrated attractions, and is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers. Blackpool Tower has a rich and varied history, from almost being demolished in the early 1920’s, to a revival in fortunes at the beginning of the new millennium. As of March 2010, the tower is owned by Blackpool Council, and managed by the Merlin Entertainment Group, who have big plans to regenerate the famous Tower Ballroom and add other attractions such as a Blackpool Dungeon experience.
